Girls, Young Women and Women at risk as Community outreach workers selected who have been involved in the initial mapping and planning stages of the CLM, Data on the availability and accessibility of health services at health facilities are collected effectively and the results are shared respectively with health facilities and District authorities for improvement.
A Project to Increase PrEP Access and Treatment Literacy to improve the health and well-being of Sex Workers in Tunduma Town Council, aims to address the significant barriers that sex workers face in accessing PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and other critical HIV prevention tools. The project's primary objective is to increase PrEP access and treatment literacy among sex workers in Tunduma Town Council through community engagement, education, one-on-one counseling, and the distribution of accessible educational materials.
The goal is to increase HIV testing uptake and yield; link HIV-positive women at high-risk members with treatment and care; and connect HIV-negative women at high-risk members with services that will help them remain HIV negative. The program use a referral chain approach: peer outreach workers to encourage other members to refer peers in their own social and sexual networks for HIV prevention, testing and treatment services.
Inform, sustain and mobilize Girls, Young Women and Women at risk to address both HIV and other health and human rights concerns such as gender-based violence through education, aiming to improve quality of life for its members and to enhance their abilities to participate in local and national movements as peer leaders in addressing violence, safe work environments, and economic stability
